FED: DFAT has no reports of Australian deaths after earthquake

The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade says it has no reports of any Australians
being killed in the massive earthquake and tsunami in southern Asia.

The parliamentary secretary for foreign affairs and trade, BRUCE BILLSON, says the
DFAT emergency hotline has taken more than 18,000 calls following yesterday's disaster.

But he says no deaths or serious injuries have been reported at this stage.

Mr BILLSON's told Seven's Sunrise program an estimated 4,000 Australians are in affected areas.
