Randazzo Title Fight on CBS

Local cruiserweight Marc Randazzo will fight Germany's RalfRocchigiani for the vacant World Boxing Organization championship onAug. 6.

The fight, which will be televised by CBS, will be held atFoxwood Casino in Ledyard, Conn.

Rocchigiani is rated No. 1 by the WBO, Randazzo is No. 2.

"If Marc wins the title, our first fight would be on CBS again,"said Randazzo's father, George. "But it would be at the Horizon."

He said the Rocchigiani fight will be promoted by BannerPromotions, which signed Randazzo to a contract. Banner alsorecently signed Thomas Hearns, the elder Randazzo said. He expects avictory to lead to a Hearns fight.
